None of my fellow Chicago Yelpers will probably ever step foot in this place, but I'm going to Yelp it up anyway. McNasty's is a classic hometown bar. It's like something out of a Springsteen song, complete with drunk factory workers and teenage mothers. Like I've said before, I don't come from a very sophisticated place. So what makes this place great? Well, for starters, there isn't a drink you can order that costs more than $5. Second, an most important is the "World Famous McNasty Burger" It's a $4 hand-patted 1/2 pound burger. They serve it with a condiment tray that includes all the pickles and pepperocinci one can stand. It's world class, among the best you can find in Michigan. Also near to my heart is the fact that I celebrated my 21st birthday here, many moons ago. And how do you celebrate your 21st here? With a Rocky Mountain Bear Fucker, that's how. What's that you ask? Well I'm not 100% sure, but start with the shot traditionally known as "The Three Wisemen" and heat it up in the microwave. Serve hot. To cap the night off, get thrown out for leaving your pants in the bathroom. That's a birthday people!

Not worth the trouble investing your beer allowance in this bastion of lost souls. Way too much testosterone and old football war hero stories. The clientele every time you turned around was looking for a fight and though our waitress was friendly and hard-working they were way understaffed. Food was well below average and it was just not a very good place. McNasty's is just that...nasty and awful!

McNastys is exactly what you expect for a dive bar in a small town. Cheap drinks and food, filled with people looking to relax with no frills. Burger, pizza and fried pickles are favorites- they do seem to use very generic condiments and soda though so grab a bottled beer to wash down your food.

A classic dive bar, and the hamburger is really world class. You may leave smelling smoky, but you can always find someone interesting to talk to at the bar.

I guess I was hoping that this small town (New Boston) dive was going to be great. I mean with a name like McNasty's you have to have something good going on. Instead I found that it was just O.K. To start our lunch we ordered Cokes. (I know.. why do you go to a bar and order a Coke.) Oddly, the straws were about an inch too short for the plastic cup that the drink was served in. Next on the menu, fried pickles. I may be strange, but I can't pass a fried pickle without tasting it. Wow... these were terrible, definitely the worst that I've had. If I didn't know better, I would think that these fried pickles were sold frozen and in bulk. The pickles were small, the breading was way too thick, and actually hurt your mouth when you bit into them.... more like breaded pork chops, not batter dipped as they should be. The had very little taste and were disappointing. Next up was the "Almost Famous 1/2 lb. McNasty burger". I ordered mine with pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and then proceeded to add ketchup (the ketchup... I don't know what they did to it, but it definitely lived up to the "McNasty" name) and mustard. This was an excellent serving of meat, tender, juicy, but it had very little flavor. Salt and pepper, people!!! I ordered onion rings while my wife ordered fries. The fries were just plain bland and looked like my skin after a long winter...plain white (not golden brown like they should be). I like my burgers a bit undercooked, but not my fries. The onion rings were good, but once again tasted like the kitchen lost their salt and pepper shakers. I was hoping this place was going to be good. It's a beautiful old bar with lots of dark wood, pool tables, and a wonderful ambiance. I just wish they would put a little more time in making their food as special as the building . I'm going to give this 3 stars, but that is more for average than anything else.

This place is way out dated. The food has gone way done hill over the last few years. The burgers have no flavor. Its very dirty and the wait staff is sub par. Drinks are over priced for a dive bar. Dont waste your time.
